The London Heathrow Airport is 15 miles west away from the center of London. That is equivalent to a 15-minute ride. It is situated along the M4 motorway and near the M25 interchange. At large, it is still part of London’s metropolis. Given that, the Heathrow airport is very accessible to a number of public transportation such as taxis and buses.

It is very easy to get to the London Heathrow Airport, since signposts are strategically placed at all routes that lead to the airport. The main roads that lead to Heathrow are M25 and M4. These roads are easily affected by rush hour traffic. Hence, when taking these routes it is best to leave for the airport with a lot of time to spare in case of delays from the traffic. Traffic from A30 and A3113 can even reach Heathrow.

The best way to get to London Heathrow Airport is to go through the M4 Motorway. It is easiest get through M4 at the junction of 15 and M25 roads. Terminals one to three are clustered together and can be reached by car via A4 road by the junction for of M4 motorway. If your destination is the terminal four, you can get there by leaving the M4 motorway via junction three.

To reach London Heathrow Airport from the north, take the M25 passing through Birmingham and Midlands, or theA1 or M1 from the north east. While taking the M25 go westbound towards Heathrow and Gastwick.

Coming from the south, if you are from the Brighton area, take the A23 north that heads toward M23 and London. Join the M23 and continue straight ahead until you reach M25. Take the M25 west that is heading towards Heathrow. If you are headed to Heathrow from the south east, take the M20 that heads for London. Upon reaching junction three, take the M26, which has a signpost for Gatwick and Heathrow. Then, take the M25 at junction five.

From the M25, join the M4 motorway that has a signpost for Gatwick and Heathrow via junction 15

If you are heading for London Heathrow Airport from the west, take the M4 motorway that is through Bristol, Swindon and Reading. Take the M4 until you reach Heathrow. However, if you are headed towards Heathrow from southwest, take the M3 going to London and then take the M25 north which has a signpost for Heathrow airport. Leave M25 via junction 15 and turn to M4 motorway. From there, go straight ahead till you reach Heathrow.

To reach London Heathrow Airport from the east, take the M25 from the A13. Go south towards the direction of Dartford. Do not leave M25 until you reach junction 15. At junction 15 take the M4 motorway that is headed of Heathrow and London.

There are numerous ways to get to the London Heathrow Airport. When you are travelling on your own, keep it in mind to always have an airport map on hand and leave for the airport early. You do not want to miss your flight just because you walked into the wrong terminal, or you took a wrong turn and headed to the opposite direction of the airport, or worse you were struck on traffic
