Permanent Passes
Importance of Permanent Pass
If you are at Heathrow Airport, you have can get yourself a permanent pass which allows you access relevant areas of airport for a small period of 5 years. If these passes are not used for more than 60 days or more in a continuous period, they get suspended and leads to further re-activation. Therefore, it is also termed as a security precaution by BAA authorities.
They can get re-activated again by completing the formality of submitting Form 7 duly signed by the authorised person. If during the tenure the pass has been suspended for more than 1 year and less than 2 years, the person has to submit a letter to certify that he/she has remained in the continuous employment since the pass was issued.
Permanent passes Or Temporary passes
Are you in a mood to get a 30- day temporary pass for yourself? You should be aware that you can not apply for a permanent pass, if you already have a 30 day temporary pass currently in use by an applicant. Once your application form is received (i.e. - Form 1) along with some relevant supporting documents, BAA authorities may issue you a temporary pass.
Get a permanent pass
In order to get a permanent pass the applicant must provide referees who can refer him/her for the employment during the last five years. They must undergo a criminal record check at basic disclosure level. This basic certificate should be issued in the last 10 weeks while an applicant decides to present it to BAA authorities.
Applicant should also provide an approved identity document and an evidence of their UK national insurance number which is acceptable. If you are not a citizen of UK or you are an overseas applicant you must also provide acceptable evidence of your right to work in UK.
It is necessary for all the applicants to undertake General Security Awareness Training and get a certificate to prove the completion of this training.
Though security measures at Heathrow are very strict, every person who gets a permanent pass has to follow some basic rules taught in the training. Certain exceptions are also there which control authorities, airline personnel and those people who are engaged in aviation security duties because the training they receive is quite extensive and detailed than the training provided during General Security Awareness Training.
