On receiving the luggage, Excess Baggage Company tries to get the contact details of the person who owns the luggage by checking the owners name etc. After this, they get in touch with you to resolve the passengers reclaiming of the lost property at Heathrow Airport.
After you receive your baggage
After the request received by you of lost baggage, a reference number is issued to you to keep a track on the progress of the lost luggage. You may be asked to provide full small details of your luggage in this process. Imagining, if you have received your luggage, there is a storage fee charged by the Excess baggage Company which is to be paid by the baggage owner himself. The luggage is handed over to the concerned person after the complete process of verification done by the company officials. There is a proper procedure which is followed accordingly.
Left anything of The Aircraft?
After reaching airport, if you realise that you had left any important item on the aircraft, you may need to contact your airline as soon as possible. The airline officials may further contact the internal staff and all the items found are returned to the concerned person with full respect and due procedure.

- Always keep in mind that from handling of the luggage to delivering the luggage, the airline you are travelling with is responsible. The responsibility of the airlines starts after you have checked in your luggage till the time when you collect your luggage on the airports baggage claim hall.
- If anyhow, you don’t seem to see your luggage or feel if it has been lost, delayed or even stolen, you may contact the Lost Luggage Desk which is situated in the airport baggage arrival hall.
- The officials immediately take an action upon your request and the complete information about your luggage is checked and provided to you within no time.
- You may also be asked to list the contents of your bag and after the complete security check you will be handed over the baggage. Make sure you have the receipts of the luggage as airline acts like an insurance company and may provide compensation like other insurers do.
