World duty free store which is specially meant to offer a very large range of tax-free prices on duty-free goods such as, liquor, tobacco, beauty products and cosmetics, fragrances, jewellery and accessories.
Heathrow Terminal 2 was among those terminals which started to function first as compared to other Terminals at Heathrow airport. The name assigned to it was Europa building and was opened to public in the year 1955. Here at Heathrow airport arrivals, almost 30 airlines are operated which makes Terminal 2 as one of the busiest terminals.
The new Heathrow Terminal 2 will provide 185,000m2 of floor space between the existing Terminal 2 and Queen's Building. The new building would be redesigned in a way to produce 40% less carbon than existing buildings. Solar-gathering panels installed on the roof will further reduce the dependency on various energy suppliers. The first phase of construction is due in 2013
Facilities at Heathrow Terminal 2:- Heathrow airport, being situated in the hub of lot of economic activities which have led to many hotels and restaurants to come up. Due to the proximity of these hotels they have been assigned the name of Heathrow airport hotels.
Check-In facility is located on the ground floor whereas Flight Arrivals are located on the first floor of Terminal Flight Departures. Left Luggage facilities are also available in Terminal 2 which is opened from 05:30 to 23:00 and can be checked at a cost of £8 per item per day. The facility is located near the Lufthansa check-in desk.
Provision of accessing Internet is located in the departure lounges allowing you to enjoy wireless Internet service from your laptop.
Information Point at Heathrow Terminal 2: Only one information desk is available in the Departures area and another one is located near the meeting point in the public area. The timings for this desk are 06:00 to 23:00.
Medical facilities at Heathrow Terminal 2: In case of any medical required at Heathrow, the airport is ready to look after you. Emergency phones are installed throughout the various terminals, health centres with nurses on hand at Terminal 2. Medical facilities are same at all the Terminals leading to excellent medical support. In case of emergency use internal telephones in the terminal by calling 222 where an operator would respond your call and send an ambulance or a medical team to the mentioned location.
Cash facilities at Heathrow Terminal 2 : Various cash dispensers are located in departures behind the stairs and some are placed near World Duty Free shops on the left side of the floor. Most of the international and domestic cards are accepted here. Another cash machine is located in the main arrivals between Post office and Travelex Bureau de Change at the right side of the floor.
Parking at Heathrow Terminal 2: - Different parking options are available at Heathrow Terminal 2. If it turns out to be very economical, it may help you to save loads of money. This will also be very convenient in case of an early morning flight when you have to end up finding a suitable Parking at Heathrow airport.
