Heathrow airport Terminal 5 is the newest terminal which is exclusively used by British Airways. Terminal 5 is a state of art building which is the largest free standing building in UK. Glass & steel structure gives a feeling of open space and thus increases the efficiency of the building.
In 1989, they project of giving a new design to the terminal was started but government planning permission was only given in November 2001. The terminal was inaugurated by Queen Elizabeth II on the 14th March 2008. This was opened to passengers on the 27th March 2008.
