Knowing about Heathrow is must before you wish to take a flight to some other destination. Heathrow has the capability to look after all your medical needs by providing extensive medical care.
Heathrow medical care has always been the best to maintain the comfort level of all the passengers. To help the passengers who are not well, there are emergency phones installed throughout the terminals, health centres with nurses to help you in each terminal. A number of pharmacies are also available to provide you the best medical aid at the time of need. Heathrow has in all three medical centres with all the trained nurses in the staff where any kind of minor medical treatment can be obtained.
Two of the Heathrow medical facilities here are run by British Airways and other by BAA Heathrow Airport. If you feel any medical emergency, these are handled by London Ambulance Service.
If you are already suffering from any medical existing ailment which might get affected by flying, the best part is to inform your airlines about it & get your doctor along to complete a medical information form that would help to describe your condition and certify you to be fit and enable you to fly. Also don’t forget to keep any kind of essential medication along with you in your hand luggage, so that when you may need it, you are able to provide yourself the medical aid which you require.
In case of Emergency
If you come across any emergency & require any medical treatment, you may use one of the internal phones installed in the terminal and dial 222 from it. As soon as your call will be received, an operator will send an ambulance or a medical team to the mentioned place.
Health Care Centre
Heathrow’s health care centre is located between Terminal 1 & Terminal 2 on the ground floor of the Queen’s building. Chemists & Pharmacies
There are chemists as well as pharmacies in all the terminals located both before and after passport control. You can get the medicine at the counter or you may also obtain the prescribed medicine but this facility is only available in the branches before security in Terminal 1 & Terminal 5. In case of any confusion prevailing, you may also consult the pharmacy staff for the medical advice.
On the first floor of the building of Terminal 5, there is a non-emergency health centre. The chemists are also located in numerous areas throughout the terminal 5 like:-
- They are situated in the check in area which is next to the Vodafone store.
- Also, after the security check in the departures area which is near the world duty free store.
